Important decisions are often difficult to make, especially the ones with heavy financial implications. Often a disagreement about which decision to make complicates the process. This four-hour class will give you the tools to make informed business decisions and show you the value of a good disagreement in the decision-making process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how finance relates to overall business decision-making
  • Identify financial decision-making tools for calculating significant ratios to determine the financial impact of a decision
  • Identify the elements of effective decision making
  • Learn to use MS Excel to make calculating financial ratios easier and faster
  • Recognize the value of opinions and disagreements

About the Instructor

Marshall Watson & Andrew Frakes

Marshall Watson is the Professional Development Manager for The Strive Group. As a twenty-three year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a former adjunct instructor with UAA’s Mat-Su College, Marshall adds training and development, instructional technology and coaching expertise to The Strive Group’s team. He is skilled in assessing an organization’s training needs, developing content to meet those needs, and delivering it through on-demand, in-person and distance learning methods.

Andrew Frakes is a Finance Consultant specializing in CFO/Controller services, accounting procedure development, budgeting, financial statement preparation, and audit preparation and management. As a principal of Cairn North Consulting, he is committed to coaching leaders in being more financially confident.
